How to buy Bitcoin

Using Cash App

Download the App: Get the Cash App from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Set Up an Account: Sign up with your email or phone number and link a bank account or debit card.
Verify Your Identity: For security and compliance, you’ll need to provide your full name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number to enable Bitcoin transactions.
Add Funds: Ensure your Cash App balance has enough money to cover the purchase by tapping the “Add Cash” option on the home screen.

Step-by-Step Guide

Go to the Money Tab: On the Cash App home screen, tap the “Money” tab (which often looks like a bank icon or an account balance in the bottom-left corner).
Select Bitcoin: Tap on the Bitcoin tile.
Tap “Buy”: On the Bitcoin screen, you’ll see current prices and options. Tap the Buy button.
Choose an Amount:
- Select one of the preset amounts (e.g., $10, $25, $50).
- To enter a custom amount, tap the three dots (...) and use the keypad to specify the exact dollar amount you wish to spend.
Confirm the Purchase: Review the transaction details, including any fees and the exchange rate.
Enter Your PIN: Enter your Cash App PIN or use your Touch ID/Face ID to confirm the transaction.

Once confirmed, the purchased Bitcoin will appear in your Cash App Bitcoin balance. Cash App also offers features like Auto Invest to buy Bitcoin on a set schedule (daily, weekly, etc.) or using Round Ups to turn spare change into Bitcoin.

USING COIN BASE

Coinbase lets you buy bitcoins (BTC)

Instantly with a credit card or debit card. Here are step-by-step instructions to help make the buying process easier for you.

1. Create an Account on www.coinbase.com

First select “Get Started” on the top Right of Coinbase.com Then fill in your info at the signup form and select “Create Account”. Once you create an account, confirm your personal details and login. You may be asked to upload a scan of ID. Once you’ve logged in, continue to the next step.

2. Navigate to account settings

Navigate to the top right corner and click on your name. There should be a drop-down menu where you can click “Settings”. Then click “Payment Methods” Click on “Add Payment Method” in the right corner.

3. Click “Credit/Debit Card”

4. Enter your Credit/Debit Card Information

Note that Coinbase only accepts Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards at this time.

5. Verify your identity

After signing in, go to the Document Verification page. Choose the type of Identity Document you’d like to upload (Drivers License or State Issued ID). Select to upload via Mobile Camera (mobile) or File Upload (computer).
